contemplating the meaning of life as we know it I actually for the first time since joining the site had to report a copyright - violation . ME , of all people, I'm always saying to be a bit relaxed about this issue  ( I posted comments to that effect in forums ) , because I'm affraid this could easily turn out to be censorship ( in the negative sense of the word ). But this time even I couldn't let this one pass. As usual it was in the wallpaper-females section , but I've never been inclined to report any deviation ( yes,even there ) , since most people had at least the decency to apply some kind of change to the original they downloaded ( be it a filter ,effect , cut and paste ; well anything which changed the picture sufficiently for me ) . Not so with this deviation though : this deviant had the actual nerve to not change one bit of the picture he/she downloaded from the net and post it as his/her own ! When I saw this I was , quit frankly , disbelieving that anyone would think no one would notice this . But the real disbelief came to me later : I had actually reported this ( without knowing what the result will be for this deviant ) !! I never snitch ( and I mean absolutely never ! ) . Now I've thought a true I realise it's not really snitching at all  , it's the result of an accumulating sense of irritation of what some people are doing to this site . I've stated before , and I still believe this , the wallpaper - female section should remain an integral part of this site , but now I'm beginning to wonder how we ( and by "we " I mean the whole of deviantart's community ) are going to accomplish this ? I mean : to what extent can we rely on people not to do what this guy did ? Then I came to realize there's something else going on here also ... I remember slaving for hours to get a deviation just right ( I refer to my instant karma / alien buddha series of deviations in which you can clearly see the progress I made whist making it ) and then have it ignored mostly . One day later I applied some filters and the likes to a picture of Cori nadine ( done in about 10 minutes !! ) and posting it on the site . Result : a zillion views and downloads ! This is what's really irritating me and what caused me to report this guy ...I said in the report I made : two wrongs don't make a right ..maybe this should apply to myself also . Reporting this deviation was done out of irritation and of remembering the frustration I felt when nobody seemed even remotely interested in the deviations I made ( which were all original , except the one which gets the most downloads ! ). I just hope that this will be the last time I'll get so annoyed that I resort to reporting someone ( I doubt it though ).....Ah well , tommorow I'm gonna install my weatherstation and I can start to observe something which can't be ripped of : Nature itself !!!!!Tomorrow never knows
